PION logo

The logo for PION2024 was inspired by research done in the Physics of Fluids group at the University of Twente.

It represents a pawn (pion in Dutch) getting pulled through the surface of a liquid-air interface.

Moreover, the background of this website was also created in collaboration with the Physics of Fluids group, it consists of 25 little pawns that are present in a turbulent fluids experiment: a dodecahedron with at each of the 12 points a propeller generating uniform turbulence at the center. We thank Sander Huisman for helping us.
